About the adaptation and source
We have retained the main plot and characters in our own adaptation of Doyle’s story. Some information from the ending is revealed earlier so that you can solve the case yourself; this is indicated in the files. Imprisonment, violence and an animal attack, without graphic descriptions. The dialogue is original, rather than quotations from a modern translation. The original English story at Project Gutenberg contains the solution.
