CASE 12 / BAKER STREET MYSTERIES
The Second
Stain.
A missing letter. A locked dispatch box.
A carpet remembers more than a witness.
One envelope could cause an international crisis.
Holmes and Watson seek a clue in a London drawing room.
Based on “The Adventure of the Second Stain” by Arthur Conan Doyle. Original dialogue, illustrations and documents; the solution follows the original story. No prior knowledge is needed. If you already know the ending, become an assistant to new detectives.
About the adaptation and source
We have retained the main plot and characters in our own adaptation of Doyle’s story. Some information from the ending is revealed earlier so that you can solve the case yourself; this is indicated in the files. Blackmail and murder, without graphic descriptions. The dialogue is original, rather than quotations from a modern translation. The original English story at Project Gutenberg contains the solution.
